Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, better called Ari Lennox, is an American singer and musician born in Washington, D.C., who was the first woman to be signed to J. Cole's Dreamville Records record label. On October 21, 2016 she dropped Pho, her first EP on the Dreamville Records label. That was the day she gained her first notoriety. Shea Butter Baby her debut album was released on May 7, 2019. Ari Lennox has been uploading her music since 2012 with her release of her debut mixtape "Five Finger Discount" and her EP Ariography. In 2014, she continued to share her music over the internet including her independently release single Bound. Sweat It is included on Omen's Elephant Eyes album, which was released on July 21 2015. J. Cole was interested by her talent and was looking to use it in conjunction with Rihanna. On December 28, 2008 it was announced that Rihanna was hired to Dreamville Records. Backseat is a track that she recorded alongside Cozz on her Revenge of the Dreamers II collaboration album. In October 21st, 2016 her debut EP was released, titled Pho. Ari Lennox later appeared on J. Cole's track Change and also performed as the opening act for the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour in 2017. in 2018, the singer-songwriter appeared on two tracks featuring EarthGang, on Nothing but the Best, and Bas On Icarus. Ari Lennox, on the 16th of July in 2018 she released her debut single "Whipped Cream" from Shea Butter Baby. The music video came out on the 5th. Then, in November, she released the singles forty Shades of Choke & Grampa. Then on the 13th of November two singles called The No One and pedigree. Shea Butter Baby was released in her debut single the 26th of February, 2019, for her album Creed II. Shea Butter Baby performed alongside Cole as part of her Creed II sound track on November 16. In February of 2019 her music video to the track debuted. The song has received more than three million YouTube views in just a single week. She was the supporting act for 6LACK on the From East Atlanta With Love Tour in December 2018.
